The Cabinet Secretary for Climate Action and Rural Affairs has announced the appointment of Aidan O’Carroll as Chair of the Water Industry Commission for Scotland.
Aidan O’Carroll is a Chartered Accountant and former Senior Partner at EY, the global professional services firm. He is also currently Chair of the Board of Revenue Scotland, the authority responsible for Scotland’s devolved taxes and previously served as Chair of the IoD in Scotland. He has also held Non-Executive Director roles in the financial services sector.

His expertise will be a valuable asset to WICS as we continue to deliver effective, independent economic regulation in the interests of customers across Scotland.”

Aidan's appointment will be for 4 years and will run from 3 August 2026 to 2 August 2030.
This appointment is regulated by the Ethical Standards Commissioner.
